Mark Russo has been creating kitchens and baths for residences throughout the Midwest for over 40 years. In addition to residential design, his body of work includes commercial projects and specialty design for clients throughout the Midwest: casework at the Douglas Dawson Art Gallery in Chicago, Illinois, as well as casework for the visitor center of Frank Lloyd Wright’s house at Cedar Rock State Park, near Quasqueton, Iowa, and casework for The National Parks Service at Effigy Mounds’ visitor center, in Harpers Ferry, Iowa. He began his career in 1977 as McGregor Woodworks in McGregor, Iowa, designing and building beautiful kitchens, baths and specialty casework. After a long career as a woodworker, he shifted his focus to design and relocated to Iowa City, Iowa in 2002. He has been recognized by Iowa City’s Historic Preservation Commission on numerous occasions for his preservation efforts and continues to serve the community.
